There are two kinds of white gold:

1. Platinum, which men are permitted to wear.

2. Ordinary gold alloyed with nickel or another material. Men are not permitted to wear this kind, and it invalidates the prayer — unless the proportion of gold in it is so small that it would not commonly be regarded as gold at all.
